Walmart Technology - Building a Future Scenario

As defined by the Institute for the Future, based in Palo Alto, Cali, futures thinking is…. They are the world’s leading futures organization that has consulted with businesses, governments, and social impact organizations for 50 years to create global forecasts, custom research, and foresight.  

By illuminating and thinking critically through all the futures across the spectrum of possibility, we become stewards of the future. Armed with this knowledge, we can create action plans that enable our preferred futures, while disabling the non-preferable ones. This is important so that we don’t let the future just happen to us, but we have an active hand in what happens. We can prepare for good futures and mitigate bad futures.
