Internship Overview
 
• During the 8-week-long summer internship you will build relationships with public finance professionals and gain skills that will help you stand out and succeed in your career.
• There is one internship in our Charlotte, North Carolina headquarters and one in our Annapolis, Maryland office starting June 6, 2022, each paying $25 an hour, plus a $3,500 housing stipend.
• This internship is designed to give the intern broad exposure to all aspects of First Tryon’s municipal financial advisory practice. Interns work directly with First Tryon employees running quantitative analysis, preparing presentation materials, and assisting with daily deliverables owed to clients.
 
Responsibilities
 
• Research, analysis, and due diligence work reviewing current and prospective client’s debt profiles.
• Assist financial advisors in relationship management, client follow ups, administration, and business development.
• Conduct Market Research using the Bloomberg Terminal and other resources.
• Develop pitchbook presentations and perform quantitative analyses.
• Draft presentation materials, memos, and responses to Requests for Proposals to generate business.
• Develop structuring and cash flow financial models, primarily for bond transactions.
 
Qualifications
 
• Excellent time management; well-organized, detail-oriented, and accurate.
• Ability to learn and master computer applications that are vital to our business.
• Ability to understand and adhere to industry rules and regulations.
• Professional demeanor.
 
Requirements
 
• Must have a cover letter and transcript attached with resume.
• Must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Must be a current student attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) or a Minority Serving Institution (MSI) in the state of North Carolina or Maryland (NC and MD residents attending out-of-state HBCU’s or MSI’s are also welcome to apply).
