Description

The Max Kampelman Fellowship is accepting applications for the Fall 2022 Cohort and would like to invite your students to attend an Info and Q&A session about the Fellowship!

At the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (U.S. Helsinki Commission), Max Kampelman Fellows represent the next generation of American leaders in security policy, human rights, and strategic communications. Policy Fellows and Communications Fellows have the unique opportunity to join a team of world-class experts at an independent, bicameral, bipartisan, inter-branch federal agency, with a focus on human rights, military security, and economic cooperation.

Register for the Info Session: https://ushr.webex.com/ushr/j.php?RGID=r359e6f830acb39d78cefd0d6c50fd890

The Fellowship Coordinator, the Communications Director, and the current fellows will share more about the fellowship and be available to answer questions about this exciting opportunity.

Former Max Kampelman Policy Fellows have gone on to work for the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, USAID, and Senate committees and personal offices. Past Communications Fellows have gone on to positions including Capitol Hill reporters, press secretaries for members of Congress, communications professionals in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, and more.

About the Max Kampelman Fellowship

Policy Fellows will work in political and military affairs, economic and environmental matters, or respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, while Communications Fellows will work hands on with all areas of a government organization’s portfolio. For students with an interest in policy or international affairs, this opportunity is a wonderful launchpad that gets you in DC, networking, and doing meaningful policy and strategic communications work.

Fellows will work 30 hours a week and are paid $25 per hour. Fellowships will take place in person in Washington, D.C.

The Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe would love to invite students from your school to apply to be part of our fall cohort. Applications are due June 12, and the fall fellowship will run from September 12 until December 16. More information about the application, including how to apply, can be found on our website. To those students unable to apply for the fall fellowship, we encourage you to consider the spring and summer 2023 fellowship terms.

This event is facilitated by the organization and open to the general public. It is not hosted or organized by the UMBC Career Center.
