Description
Bowie State University will host the Google Regional Leadership Symposium, a one-day event bringing together students, faculty, staff, and the wider community with business leaders and innovators from Google and beyond.
The symposium, themed "Real Talk, Real Actions, Real Connections," will feature keynote and panel sessions, applied learning, and networking opportunities. Programming will focus on leadership, team dynamics, professional skills development, and wellbeing.
Throughout the day, participants will engage in keynote addresses, interactive workshops, and dynamic panels designed to inspire and prepare the next generation of leaders. The program includes opportunities to explore leadership development, team collaboration, personal branding, career readiness, and networking with recruiters, executives, and innovators.
Lunchtime Activation (12:00 – 1:30 PM)
We are especially excited to highlight our Lunch Activation, a block dedicated to helping students and young professionals strengthen their career readiness and explore emerging industries. Planned activities include:
- Get a Job Workshop & Office Hours – Resume and interview skills, one-on-one coaching, and exploration of open roles and internships.
- Learning More About AI – Google-led pop-ups featuring live demos, data deep dives (e.g., BigQuery), and career conversations around AI.
- Google’s Data Centers – Hands-on activation exploring Google’s infrastructure and career opportunities.
- Professional Headshot Photos – A pop-up station for professional headshots to support students’ online professional presence.
