FRESHMEN FRIENDLY employers are attending this fair!
Career Fairs can be intimidating to a first time visitor. Through the years, the Career Center team has encouraged UMBC freshmen to attend career fairs to become comfortable with the format, begin developing networking skills, and to learn about the career opportunities that are available at various organizations.
The Spring Career and Internship Fair will be held Friday, February 17. Many employers have identified themselves as Freshmen Friendly. These organizations look forward to connecting with freshmen and are willing to spend time discussing their organization, types of internships/jobs that are available, and the skill sets that are most desirable.
Employers that have agreed to be designated as Freshmen Friendly have a notation in the directory distributed to students electronically prior to and in print at the fair. There will also be an emblem displayed on the sign displayed at their fair booth.
Research shows that this is a valuable opportunity to interact in a meaningful way with company representatives as you begin thinking about future internship placements and your career options. We hope you will consider stopping by the fair to meet with representatives!
