MITRE is a not-for-profit system engineering firm chartered to work in the public interest. We take on the nation's most difficult and critical challenges—in defense, aviation, enterprise modernization, and national security. To do this, MITRE manages seven Federally Funded Research and Development Centers that focus on areas of including cyber security, emerging technologies, enterprise systems engineering, health transformation, global networking, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. We have plentiful of opportunities for summer internships and entry-level full-time positions. Paulette J. Goodman, broad areas of expertise include Project and Program Management, Requirements, Documentation (CONOPS, Policy and Procedures,

Assessments, Proposals), Program Evaluation/Assessments, and Consulting. Currently working as a Test Director for the National Cyber Range in Orlando, FL and a Directorate Task Lead for MITRE’s support to CYBERCOM’s Training and Readiness Division at Ft Meade. BS in Electronics from Southern Illinois University, MBA from Webster University, and ABD from Virginia Tech in Curriculum and Instruction.

 

Patrick Gerdes, As the portfolio director for MITRE’s work with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) within the Center for Transforming Health, Mr. Patrick Gerdes devotes himself to understanding our sponsor’s environment, culture, and Agency needs.  He then matches our sponsor’s requirements to MITRE’s capabilities, knowledge, and expertise. By understanding their current environment and developing solutions that work, he assists organizations to move from the “as-is” to the “to-be” (desired) state. Mr. Gerdes is alert not only to existing needs but to those over the horizon, where MITRE’s research can create value.  Mr. Gerdes holds a Master of Science Degree in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical & Astronautical from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 

Belinda Edwards has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems and a Master’s degree in Computer Systems Management with a concentration in Systems Development Management.   She has been with MITRE for 12 years, having supported sponsors in the Intelligence Community, DoD, and a Civilian Agency.  She currently provides enterprise architecture support for a DoD sponsor.
