Steve Chu ‘12, Chef & Co-Owner of Ekiben B.A. Economics, UMBC
With over a decade of restaurant experience spanning different cuisines and restaurants, Steve has brought a unique and exciting buzz to Charm City. He started off his career humbly working at his family restaurant. After graduating with a degree in Economics, he continued his career path by working in highly acclaimed restaurants such as Petit Louis and Kinshop. The restaurant has garnered high praise from both local and national publications such as the Baltimore Sun, Eater, Travel and Leisure Magazine, and more.
Cameron McDonald ‘16 Co-Founder & COO at Diamond Hook Media, B.A. Psychology, Entrepreneurship Minor, UMBC
Cameron knew he was destined to build something of his own one day. He worked at several tech startups during his time at UMBC, ultimately graduating and accepting a role as the 7th employee at a small startup called Fixt. After leading the sales efforts at Fixt for a year, Cameron left to start Diamond Hook Media with two of his closest friends. Over the past 6 months, DHM has grown from a team of 3 to a team of 8 and they now work with over a dozen regional and national brands, non-profits, and political campaigns.
Katelyn Niu ’05, Founder & Dentist at Niu Dentistry, B.S. Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, UMBC DDS/Ph.D, University of Maryland School of Dentistry
Dr. Niu worked as an associate dentist for two years after completing the DDS/Ph.D program. In 2015, she started Niu Dentistry to combine her passion for health care and her interest in business. Niu Dentistry is a family dental practice dedicated to providing quality care to patients of all ages. Dr. Niu and her team of five professionals take great pride in caring for the dental health of the Anne Arundel County community
