On the Road: Medifast

INSTEAD OF BRINGING THE COMPANY TO CAMPUS, WE’RE TAKING YOU TO THE COMPANY!

Join the Career Center on an employer visit to Medifast, Inc., a leading food science company based in Owings Mills, MD.

EVENT DATE: Friday, April 13th 

MEET AT:  Administration Drive Circle, behind the Retriever Activities Center (RAC)

DEPARTURE TIME: 8:45 am SHARP 

RETURN TIME: approximately 1:00 pm

AGENDA

The agenda will include a tour the Production floor, Product and Development, and Quality Assurance laboratories.

ATTIRE/DRESS

Medifast is a food manufacturing facility; they adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP):

• Business casual
• Closed toe shoes
• No jewelry
•  No chewing gum/eating
•  No cell phones permitted in the plant
•  Hair nets, beard nets, and lab coats (supplied)

MAJORS: Chemistry, Biology, BTA, Computer Science, Finance, IT (Undergraduate/Graduate)

TRANSPORTATION:

Transportation is provided, but an RSVP/REGISTRATION is required.

REGISTRATION:

Logon to UMBCworks and select “Events”.  Search “Info Sessions” for the On the Road to Medifast. You will receive confirmation of your registration prior to the trip date.  Space is limited, so register early!

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you do not attend this event and have not canceled your reservation, your student account will be charged $25 to cover expenses incurred by the Career Center.
