Description

How do we measure the value of work? That depends on who is answering the question.

Join artist and Georgetown University professor Bruce McKaig in a discussion of his artistic work and his efforts to promote ethical funding opportunities in the arts and all industries.

Workers are producing more than ever and nonetheless have little to no financial security. The industry of art is a great starting point to explore options to redress that imbalance. One, artists struggle with scarce resources as they strive to discover and share nothing less than masterpieces. That equation (limited means, hopes for happiness) has implications for workers across all industries. Two, experiencing the arts can be part of unleashing skills, power, and aspirations that are otherwise dismissed and overlooked.

It is not about everyone being an artist. It is about everyone being recognized and compensated for being themselves.
