My Hair is Not Unprofessional

Do you ever wonder how you should style your hair for an interview? Do you ever wonder how an employer will perceive you based on your hair? Have you ever considered altering your hair style to “fit in”? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, this forum is for you. Join us as several professionals of color share their natural hair stories and how hair has impacted their professional and personal lives. Included will be an employer’s prospective of professionalism and during the hiring process.

This event is for UB students and community members from all backgrounds to explore the experiences of underrepresented groups in the workplace with a focus on natural hair styles. Registration is limited. Contact the Career & Internship Center with questions at careercenter@ubalt.edu.
