Description
Have you heard of genetic counseling? Are you considering genetic counseling as a career path? Join us for this seminar to learn more about this fast moving career for Genetic Counselor Awareness Day from current genetic counselors who work in a clinical and/or research setting at Johns Hopkins and the Maryland & DC Society of Genetic Counselors! All are welcome to participate in educational sessions & activities for an overview of genetic counseling to get a sense of the career and to see if it might be a good fit for you. This seminar is intended for individuals new to genetic counseling and exploring career paths in genetics & healthcare including high school students, college students, and current professionals considering interested in the field of genetic counseling. If you are in the process of preparing to apply to genetic counseling schools, information on accredited programs and the match process are available online. A detailed schedule of sessions will be available closer to the event date.
The event will be held over Zoom. To receive the Zoom link, you must register through our Eventbrite page (link below). Registration will close on Monday November 1st at midnight. Those who register will receive a Zoom link through the email provided on the morning on Thursday November 4th.
